The Fourth
Twenty two years ago, I laid in a hospital holding a brand new baby, watching fireworks on PBS. It truly was a special day.
This was the quietist Fourth of July. In addition to the normal celebrations, we celebrate our first born’s birthday. We would have a family picnic, but not this year. It was a low key day, where one would hardly realize there was something to celebrate on this day. We had celebrations all weekend long, so we were all celebrated out by the time the Fourth arrived.
