Flowers in bloom
Though the heat is still quite unbearable, the flowers in my yard continue to produce lovely and fragrant blooms.
I make a quick trip out, of the air conditioned comfort, to check out the asiatic lillies and retrive the mail.

The first time I saw the Star Gazer Lily was at a wedding in Watch Hill, RI. I was enchanted by the beauty and the fragrance. It joined the list of my cut flower favorites like daffodils and tea roses.

A Star Gazer bloom was picked and cleaned to come inside. The fragrance flows with the air currents created by the air conditioner. Soon the blooms will go by and I will have to wait until next July for more of my Star Gazers.
