Showers
Showers are joyous events preparing for new beginnings. The bride was full of joy. The smiles she had brightened the room and eased the frigid temperatures outside.
Showers are supposed to bring families closer together, opportunities to reconnect. Maybe I am too optimistic. Drama is lurking in the older attendees. There is too much history and past hurt. Why is it that there has to the drama? Thankfully the bride-to-be did not notice.
Breaking ribbons at a bridal shower means that is how many children she will have, three ribbons broke. The love in the eyes of the two to be wed was breathtaking to see. To have such love is a precious gift.
